UNICEF (leading agency working for the rights of the children) and UNICEF's leading innovation hub Socialab are running an international contest, Global Innovation Challenge: First 72 Hours, It is open for ALL. If you are interested please give it a go and also circulate this information through your own internal network. 

Background:The Challenge seeks innovative solutions focused on the first 72 hours after a disaster in the areas of food and water, energy, health, and communication. For more information and a detailed timeline, please refer to the attached Project Brief and materials for distribution.

The challenge has been launched globally on 17 December 2013 and it is open for everyone to apply for.

Highlights: Opportunity to impact the lives of women and children affected by a crisis by:

Working directly with UNICEF professional from around the world: This is a great opportunity for you to work and be mentored/help mentoring by UNICEF Innovation team across the world. 

Mentoring received from UN professional directly: All the participating/applicant will receive direct mentoring from humanitarian/emergency professionals from across the world (depending on the applicant location etc). 

USD 15,000 and opportunity to travel to UNICEF innovation lab in Chile:  2 of the best projects will receive USD 15,000 and possibility to travel to UNICEF innovation lab in Chile for Piloting of the project.
