Hello Ushahidi Community!

Today, the v3 team rolled out v3.0.0.0-beta.19.

What’s in it?

Here’s what the team rolled out:

• New features like:

• Manage post types through the settings UI.

• Add, edit and remove post types. Create a post type, add steps, add fields. Build out your data collection requirements as you need.

Improvements

• Lots of fixes to styling, particularly on forms.

• Add a new modal directive - already put to use in the Post Type settings.

• Rebuilt the API for fetching and querying the posts in a collection.

• Split the sets API into collection and saved searches API’s.

• Tidy up the readme on the frontend and API.

• Update Vagrant install scripts for a simpler mysql setup.

• Clean up the DB schema: remove unused tasks table, add default roles, add a foreign key on roles in the user table.

What’s coming up next?

Here are a couple of things to expect in the next release:-

• Create, edit and view saved searches and collection of posts

• Show post steps when creating and editing a post. Mark steps as complete.

Have a look at our release notes and blog post announcement for more details on changes in this release.

Take it out for a spin on our demo site (username: demo, password: testing), but keep in mind that this is not ready for production, but we continue to get closer.

How Can You help?

Translators!

• We just updated repository for v3 on Transifex, removing old strings and updating new ones based on the recent changes. We could use your help getting translations up to 80%(See our Translators Power Ushahidi Campaign). Here’s a quick guide on how to get started

Developers

• Download and Install the platform

• Set up a development build

• Follow our developer processes to send in bug reports and submit changes.

• If you’re not already set up on Phabricator, please head over to the Ushahidi Phabricator page and sign up. Once your account is approved, here’s a guide to get you started.

Users/Deployers

• Have a look at our roadmap,to track progress on tasks, and add your voice into anything you feel is a high priority for you.
