Hi folks,

Today we release the version of the Ushahidi platform - Cairo it is. It has been 2months since our last release but good things have been happening hence the delay. 2.5 has some very huge changes including: mapping code has ben moved to one location and the timeline has been decoupled from the map, a totally new settings table, adopting a key-value option and more.
We thank you all for your contribution in terms of bugs, features and even pull requests.

One thing to note is, you CANNOT do a direct upgrade from 2.4 to 2.5 therefore we have pushed out another minor upgrade hence you have to first update to 2.4.1 after which you can now upgrade to 2.5.

More details about the release and how to upgrade can be found on the blog ( http://blog.ushahidi.com/index.php/2012/08/01/announcing-2-5-cairo/)

Ushahidi Upgrade:

There are a number of deployers on legacy, less secure versions of Ushahidi.  On Wednesday, August 8, 2012 UTC, we will hold a Upgrade day. We've set up a schedule for the team and, hopefully, some community members, to help deployers upgrade.  Can you join us by picking a timeslot to be online to assist?
