Couldn't agree more with you guys.
Those who need a trimmed report, choose the fields they need then have an option to do a summary graph( more than one kind should be availed) based on the specific statistics they need. That will sure help users get relevant reports. In addition to that, it may be good to have, by default, a full report that contains everything since its very likely that given the kind of situations covered by ushahidi, most folks will want as much if not all data in one go then sort as they need. That then creates flexibility and allows for the two.
I also agree, we should allow for those who want to use the reports as a source of an import into another app or db hence the need for as many formats......

I like the idea. Some food for thought though.
1. What if we had the option of different versions e.g PDF,XML,CSV(like in http://haiti.ushahidi.com) or the other version proposed by Kaushal
2.On the representation part, can they vary in terms of pie chart, bar graphs, line graphs or even gant charts?
We could borrow ideas from the feltron reports,i like them.
Wild thought?

May I suggest a Worl & PDF version option. I built a reporting engine for Wells Fargo and it was always good practice to provide a comprehensive report and allow managers the flexibility to remove fields that were irrelevant and/or add notes to the report before distributing it.

Good idea in fact. The report is really detailed. If we could provide other versions too, I think people will be interested. Say much trimmed version of the whole report. I'm sure people will be interested in getting specific reports.

Another option we could include is a print function so when you hit on the print button it goes to the printer.

Patrick brought up a very interesting point about a "Create Situation
Report" button within an Ushahidi deployment that would create a
downloadable PDF from the main page. I just wanted to push this
discussion into the mailing list so that we can hopefully get this
feature built in. Attached is a sample report from Kenya, along with a
mock of a simplified version of what the pdf might look like.

Since we're on the subject of stats, you guys should also look at the
